Nevada Regulators Mull on Inclusion of Online Progressive Slots to Interstate Offerings

The Venetian and the Palazzo Hotel Casinos violated anti-money laundering (AML) laws when they failed to notify authorities about the sums of money coming from various Mexican banks and financial exchange institutions, which Zhenli Ye Gon deposited in his casino accounts between 2005 and 2007.

Florida to Ban Internet Sweepstakes Cafes Touted as Mini-Casino Gambling Venues

Florida Senate voted 36-4 in favor of House Bill 155, which Florida House clarified and updated last month, in line with the House’s proposal to ban Internet sweepstakes cafes in the “Sunshine State”. The updated definition further includes, even those slot machines that purport to require some element of skill and those linked to Internet gaming operations.

Last month’s clarifications to House Bill 155, specifically stated prohibitions imposed against charity organizations and operators of for-profit sweepstakes. Said organizations are prohibited from establishing and operating unending gambling offers that make use of casino games whether looked upon as games of skill or not. As for adult arcades, clarifications include prohibitions that disallow its operators from doling out gift cards, or giving out rewards for point-accumulations and that arcade cash prices should not exceed seventy-five cents per game.

The Owner and CEO of LVS Group Las Vegas Sands has announced earlier this week that he has set out a very good possibility for a financing plan to recommence hotel and casino projects in both the US and Macau.

There were several projects on the go before the financial crisis began last year. There was a project in that was started in Pennsylvania, another in Las Vegas, and 2 major projects in Macau. All 4 were put on complete hold when the stock began to drop drastically and the economy overall was facing a recession.

CEO- Sheldon Adelson says that he is confident that all the planned projects will come back to life, resume, complete and be successful ventures all in the very near future.

Adelson himself has been largely affected by the downfall of his company and his wealth. He was previously the 3rd richest man in 2007 with a net worth of 28 Billion US Dollars, he is now considered to be worth 3.4 Billion Dollars, which isn’t bad but doesn’t scale in comparison to two years prior.

It is not clear exactly what will be done to get the financial help that is needed to re-start the projects and get them moving again. But analysts are thinking that the LVS Corp will likely have to sell off some part of the project in Macau or some of the retail land there.

The Virgin Islands is also looking to take the lead in offshore online gambling for the US as the press ahead for this potentially lucrative legislation.
